In light of recent events with COVID-19 aka the Corona virus we have had to prayerfully evaluate how to proceed with gathering as a church. This is a pandemic that affects us all.

The Lord hasn’t given us a spirit of fear. And our goal in this situation isn’t to be fearful but wise.

We are heeding to the safety requests from both the state and federal government. We will do our best to assess the changes that come up. As information seems to be updated on an almost daily basis, we are doing our best to comply for the safety of the body. These decisions aren’t made lightly.

We will be closing the church to public services for the near future and will evaluate again in April. This is done as a safeguard against the virus and its spread among our community. We are encouraging you to stay home and stay healthy. Though you may not be personally worried we should operate in love to those around us with gentleness and respect.

With all of that being said we will be streaming our Sunday services to a few platforms including Facebook live. The hope is to have this available by this weekend. Please stay tuned to our Facebook page facebook.com/seasidecalvary and our Instagram page @seasidecalvary for further updates. Please feel free to share this with your friends, as well as passing the information on to those who may not be plugged in to social media.

I understand that this is a difficult request because the church of Jesus Christ has been a gathering of the saints since its birth in Acts 2. It’s in our nature to get together. But thanks to technology we can still be checking in on one another and calling each other and praying with and for one another.

As a church we are a family who has been adopted by God through the death, burial and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ and faith in His Name. Let’s remain family in this difficult time. We can use this time to grow in prayer and personal Bible study.

We are setting up a voicemail on the church phoneline for prayer requests. Email will also be available for requests. This can be a great opportunity for us to grow in prayer and zeal for our God. Perhaps the Lord will use such a time as this to show Himself strong as we look to His strength instead of our own.

Our phone number is 503.741.9455 and emailed requests can be sent to prayer@seasidecalvary.com We are looking in to more methods of communication to stay in touch (virtually) with one another.
Lastly, I want to leave you with these reminders from the Word of our Lord.

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.” (Psalm 23, ESV)

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”” (Joshua 1:9, ESV)

do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6–7, ESV)

May we grow in prayer, the Word, and the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ Love,
Seaside Calvary Leadership
