Resources and Recommended Reading

Disclaimer:

Disclaimer: It would be impossible to 100% agree on all things with every author and every word appearing in the following books. I don’t even agree with my own self 100% of the time. How many of us have learned and grown in our understanding of different things and found ourselves disagreeing with ideas and thoughts we may have held only a short time ago? With that being said, we believe that this is a solid list of resources to read and reference, the opinions and theology may vary, and we don’t hold every opinion of every author’s every word. Keep checking back. As we grow more, we’ll post more books.

Rose Publishing also puts out good products. Often reference books or pamphlets that vary in length.
Alisa Childers also makes solid recommendations for books and resources.
Tim Challies also has a website and though he comes from a perspective to which we don’t hold (Reformed, Calvinist, Ceassationist), he’s very fair in his book reviews and makes solid recommendations.

A Word of Caution

I caution people against reading Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. The format of the book places the author in the first person place of Jesus Christ. In short, it puts words in Jesus' mouth. The promises given are done in the voice of Jesus Christ, but they are the words of the author. Faith in the words of these devotionals is a faith in Sarah Young, not Jesus Christ, not matter how encouraged we might feel when we read them.

"Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you and you be found a liar." (Proverbs 30:5–6, ESV)
